Shahrukh getting back to work!

It looks like Bollywood Baadshah Shahrukh Khan has not learned his lessons. He continued working in spite of injuring one of his shoulders while performing an action scene for the film Dulha Mil Gaya. Now, another news is doing the rounds that he is getting back to work even as he is recuperating from the surgery he underwent recently.

A workaholic that he is, Shahrukh went on to shoot My Name Is Khan in spite of the shoulder injury. He then delayed the surgery to promote his recent release Billu. Just a few weeks after the surgery, he was seen attending Filmfare Awards with bandaged arm. He is also said to have attended Amrita Arora's Sangeet ceremony. The latest news we hear is that he is going to resume the shooting of Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan on March 19.

My Name Is Khan is one of the most-awaited films of the year with Kajol in the female lead. Shahrukh must be thirsting for another hit film but he should take good care of his health first!

Karan Johar dumping the Yash Raj?

Has filmmaker Karan Johar fallen out with old pal Aditya Chopra? Or is it just a business related new arrangement? The director who always sold his films to the Yash Raj banner for distribution has decided to go outside and look for another distributor.Reports say that Karan's next two films Wake Up Sid with Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma and Rensil D'Silva’s untitled next will be distributed by UTV at a cost of Rs.60 crore. The rumours of the Karan thinking of doing business minus the Chopras have been doing the rounds for quite a while now.Now it has been confirmed with UTV being the sole distributors of Dharma Productions' next two films.

It happened after a few rounds of talks between K Jo and Ronnie Screwvala of UTV for a while. They are believed to be in agreement on not just the commerce part of filmmaking but also on quality and K Jo has apparently said that.Well, K Jo has found a new partner. So does that mean bye bye Adi? Let’s wait and watch to find out!

Salman Khan in trouble again

Salman Khan begins the year 2009 with two releases in one day. Yes, you read it right! The makers of Wanted Dead And Alive and Main Aur Mrs Khanna, both starring Salman, have both confirmed 3rd July as the release date for the films. While Boney Kapoor is the name behind Wanted Dead And Alive, Salman's brother Sohail Khan and UTV are the producers of Main Aur Mrs Khanna. One only hopes that the clash is averted. But the question is, which one will arrive on July 3 eventually and which will shift to a latter date? Let's wait and watch!

Dhoondte Reh Jaoge, 13B eye sequel

This is a trend that is fast catching up with most of the films. Conclusion of a story is being kept open ended, hence ensuring that there is a good enough scope for a sequel to be made. Earlier this year it happened with Chandni Chowk To China where it was declared before the end credits started rolling that the next in the series is going to be Chandni Chowk To Africa. Now this has happened with both the release of the Friday gone by – Dhoondte Reh Jaoge and 13B.Let's talk about Dhoondte Reh Jaoge first. Towards the climax of the film when the fraud characters played by Paresh Rawal and Kunal Khemu land in jail, they start exploring plans for the future. This is where they come across an idea of duping their fellow jail inmates into making another film.

Though the duo is set free after a year, the film does give good enough hints that together, they may well go back to their funny and fraudulent ways and continue duping investors. The possibility of a sequence is just an indication in Dhoondte Reh Jaoge but in case of 13B the message is loud and clear. The film makes a point that human body is the most complex machinery that the world has ever seen. On this premise, the movie raises a simple question - 'If one can trust spirits to use a human body as a medium to interact with the outside world, why can't one trust them to enter a machine and use it as a medium?' No wonder, a TV set becomes a medium for spirits in 13B.So where is this all leading to a sequel?

Well, towards the end of the film, when it is believed that 'sab khairiyat hai', the character played by Madhavan gets a call. The caller? A spirit! The message - 'If we could get into the TV, we could as well get into the mobile phones as well. The game is not yet over!'So is the game really over? Now it all depends upon the final box office outcome of the two films because that will be the deciding factor for the sequels to be eventually planned and executed!
